Raisina Dialogue 2025: Key takeaways, Analysis and Personal Experience.

Updated: Apr 5

The Raisina Dialogue is India’s flagship conference on geopolitics and geo-economics, committed to addressing the most challenging issues facing the international community. Each year, prominent figures from politics, business, media, and civil society gather in New Delhi to assess global conditions and seek collaborative opportunities on various pressing issues. The Dialogue is designed as a multi-stakeholder, cross-sectoral forum, featuring heads of state, cabinet ministers, and local government representatives, alongside influential thinkers from the private sector, media, and academia.
The conference is organized by the Observer Research Foundation (ORF) in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India. This initiative receives backing from numerous institutions, organizations, and individuals dedicated to the conference's mission. In 2025, it was organised from 17th to 19th March 2025, at the Taj Palace, New Delhi in its 10th edition.

The significance of India’s global stature was evident at the Raisina Dialogue as nations and organizations, some of which have historically been at odds, gathered under one roof from over 120 nations. This gathering highlighted India's role as rising power and a voice for the Global South, especially considering its past label as a third-world country by many Western experts over the last several decades.

While it is true that India has its challenges, and no nation is without its flaws, dialogues like Raisina illustrate that the world is increasingly recognizing India as a nation capable of addressing pressing global issues. Whether discussing trade, climate change, geopolitical conflicts, or various forms of governance issues. India has the potential to mediate and host discussions among conflicting nations, even those engaged in long-standing disputes. This stature of events usually used to happen outside of India and Indians observed various global events only remotely through literature, articles, newspapers, TV and magazines. The 2.5-day event presented an exciting opportunity for India to assert its role on the global stage.

During the event, there were informal discussions with individuals involved in providing Humanitarian assistance to those affected by conflict, with their next destination being Ukraine. This interaction illuminated the complexities surrounding global conflicts and the various agencies, individuals, and think tanks that contribute to addressing these crises. Such insights are often not readily available in mainstream publications, making these exchanges invaluable for broadening one’s understanding of global dynamics.
