Independence Day for India brings a season of pride and patriotism in the valor and sacrifice of the Armed forces and the freedom fighters who laid down their lives for the country. Along this, it also brings lot of memories of cruelty and bloodshed that flowed through India especially the Bordering states with Pakistan. Millions of people lost their lives to riots that took place as result of partition. All of us may have heard the reason of partition and why the demand for creation of Pakistan was accepted by the British. There are lot of theories regarding the disappearance/ death of Shri Subash Chandra Bose ji but official reasons and books say something else and the reality looks something else. If you are wandering on how the disappearance of Subash Chandra Bose and creation of Pakistan is linked, let us explain.
Background of creation of Pakistan.
It is said that, Mohammed Ali Jinnah declared 16 August 1946 as Direct Action Day as a show of force of support from the Muslim community for a separate nation.
The term “Pak-Stan” had been coined by Choudhry Rahmat Ali in the 1930s while he was studying at Cambridge University.
On 23 March 1940, at a meeting of the Muslim League in Lahore, Jinnah had endorsed such a demand, though without naming “Pakistan”.
Fast forward to the day where the British decided to partition India. Pakistan was created with the passing of Indian Independence Act 1947 by the British that decided the official day for the independence of Pakistan to be 14 August 1947.
Why did the British agreed to create Pakistan?
After the end of World War 2 in 1945 with the nuclear attack of America on the Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan, the allies that fought with the Russia against Germans, now went anti each other as Russia turned a communist country and created USSR and started to influence european countries and east europe was already under the influence of the Russians and the communist ideology that include the Albania, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, East Germany, Hungary, Poland, Romania, and Yugoslavia.
Now it is a known fact that, Subash Chandra Bose ji took the help of Germany and Japan to attack the British through the eastern India via Burma (today's Myanmar) by commmanding the forces of Indian National Army (Azad Hind Fauj) which was like a bullet for the British Government as it did not imagined the Indian soldiers would attack them in their own backyard.
This made the USA and British declare Subash ji as wanted criminal. Seeing the rising influence of USSR, the Americans made a security alliance with its European partners what is known as NATO today.
Now seeing the mutiny of the, Indian naval ratings, soldiers, police personnel and civilians and the support from the mainland Indians to the INA of Subash ji, the British knew that the people and armed forces (navy included) have gone rogue towards the British and the war had already made British weak and tired and they know amid rising nationalism in India, it will be difficult to rule India in these circumstances and they decided to give India its independence by saying that 'it is transfer of Power'.
Now, CIA (American Intelligence agency) knew that they would need partners in Asia to counter USSR, China was already going towards communism and it was only the Indian subcontinent that was the possible choice. The CIA and British together decided to create a sister state in Asia that would be used whenever required to be, and the Pakistan was born. So it won't be wrong to call Pakistan an artificial state as it was only created to serve the interest of west which can also be seen through the attitude of western countries in successive Indo - Pak wars that took place and why the USSR supported India during these wars.
Other Proves to this theory.
After the creation of Pakistan, it was flooded with American dollars and weapons to empower the Pakistan army which the Pakistan had time and again used against India through terrorism or through WAR. (All this can be seen all over the Internet that weapons of Pakistanis and mujahideens used to be American).
What happened on 14 August 1947.
The land on which Pakistan and Bangladesh is has been of India but was carved out because of some vested interest and selfish politicians of Pakistan and the British, ofcourse. With the enactment of the Indian Independence Act of 1947, the partition was officially announced and a country of Muslims was created with the official day to be 14 August 1947 for Pakistan and 15 August 1947 for India.
Forcing millions of people to leave their ancestral homes was not an easy job. Emboldened by religious hatred and social disharmony, millions of people were forced into the fire of violence. Displacement of such a large amount of population was not that much peaceful. With about 10-20 million displacement numbers, it was the largest mass migration in human history. Further, the violence engulfed approximately more than 2 million civilians creating one of the biggest massacre of human history.
So, 14 August is marked in India as Partition Horrors Remembrance Day to commemorate the vicitms of the violence that happened during Partition. (Read about the Partition of India, here)
