As the year 2023 comes to an end, lets take a look at the acheivements and the world records made by Indians. As we all know India now makes records in every sphere quiet often, but this blog limits it to most highlighted and talked about achievements out of the whole list of achievements.

Chandrayaan-3 is the third mission in the Chandrayaan programme, a series of lunar-exploration missions developed by the Indian Space Research Organization.


The Fastest Growing Economy

India has emerged as the world's fastest-growing major economy, surpassing the United Kingdom and securing the fifth position. During the first quarter of the 2023 financial year, India experienced an impressive growth rate of 7.8 percent in its real GDP, reaching an estimated value of INR 40.37 trillion (USD 484.94 billion).


Indian women Cricket Team for visually impaired individuals secured the gold medal at the International Blind Sports Association (IBSA).

Captain Sushma Patel led the Indian women's cricket team for visually impaired individuals to secure the gold medal at the International Blind Sports Association (IBSA) World Games. This remarkable accomplishment took place in August at Edgbaston, Birmingham. The Indian team's victory over Australia by nine wickets made history at the event. Additionally, the 2023 IBSA Games were notable for being the first to feature cricket as a category.


Oscar for RRR's Naatu Naatu.

The 2023 Oscars witnessed a momentous victory for the Telugu blockbuster RRR's "Naatu Naatu" as it clinched the esteemed title of Best Original Song. This triumph holds great significance as it is the first time in fourteen years that a non-English song has claimed this prestigious accolade since the iconic "Jai Ho" from Slumdog Millionaire.


Fastest 5G Rollout in India

According to official data from the Government of India, the country achieved the quickest deployment of 5G technology globally. The statistics reveal that India witnessed the establishment of a new 5G site every minute.


World's Largest Meditation Centre in Varanasi

The Swarved Mahamandir in Varanasi, India, has become the largest meditation center globally, accommodating up to 20,000 individuals simultaneously.


World's Largest Office Building in Surat inaugurated.

The construction of the world's largest office building has been successfully finished in Surat, Gujarat, India. According to the Guinness World Record, the Surat Diamond Bourse spans an impressive area of 659,611 square meters (7,099,993.71 sq ft).


Most Diyas illuminated in Ayodhya

Ayodhya's 'Deepotsav' has achieved a remarkable feat by setting a new Guinness World Record, as more than 2.23 million diyas (earthen lamps) were illuminated.


ADITYA- L1 to reach its intended destination.

The confirmation from ISRO indicates that Aditya-L1 is expected to arrive at its intended destination on 6 January 2024, marking an exhilarating beginning to India's space aspirations in 2024. The launch of this mission took place on 2 September.


National Quantum Mission launched

India's National Quantum Mission, which was initiated in April, aims to cultivate a thriving environment for Quantum Technology. Quantum technology involves utilizing the principles of quantum mechanics to develop advanced technology. Quantum mechanics is a field of physics that investigates the behavior of matter and energy at the tiniest scales, where conventional laws of physics cease to apply.


Asian Games success with record most medals.

India achieved a remarkable feat at the Hangzhou Asian Games 2023, securing an unprecedented total of 107 medals. This extraordinary haul consisted of 28 gold, 38 silver, and 41 bronze medals, setting a new benchmark for India in the history of the Asian Games. Notably, this was the first time that India's medal count surpassed the three-figure mark. Although Neeraj Chopra was widely expected to clinch the gold in javelin throw, the presence of his compatriot Kishore Jena added a challenging twist for the Olympic champion during the Hangzhou Games.


Chirag-Satwik the first Indian pair to become world No. 1 in badminton.

In October, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty achieved a remarkable feat by becoming the inaugural Indian doubles pair to secure the top spot in the world badminton rankings. Throughout the year, Shetty and Rankireddy showcased their exceptional skills by clinching three BWF titles. Fondly referred to as the 'Brothers of Destruction', this dynamic Indian duo etched their names in history by not only winning India's first-ever gold medal in badminton at the Asian Games but also triumphing at the Badminton Asia Championships.


Indian Women's National Cricket Team Captain made to the influential BBC 100 Women list for 2023.

Harmanpreet Kaur, the captain of the Indian Women’s National Cricket Team, was honored by the BBC in its 11th edition of the influential BBC 100 Women list for 2023. This list recognizes inspiring women from various fields around the world. Harmanpreet Kaur's remarkable achievements in the field of sports earned her a place in the Entertainment & Sports category. This recognition adds to her previous accomplishment of being named one of Wisden's five Cricketers of the Year in May 2023.


World's Longest River Cruise in India.

The 'MV Ganga Vilas', the longest river cruise in the world, embarked on an unprecedented river voyage, spanning over 50 days and traversing 27 river systems in India and Bangladesh.


Yoga Session with record participation

On 21 June 2023, a Yoga session held in Surat, Gujarat, India, made its way into the Guinness Book of World Records with an impressive participation of 147,952 individuals.
