Boost up Confidence Success can’t be achieved overnight, it takes days, months, and years. So, never think that there are so many days left in the exam and you have enough time for studies. When you move step by step towards your target, it builds up confidence in you. This confidence is very important for clearing exams like IAS and UPSC.

My suggestion for you is that if you are in good college in which the teachers teach good then do your college studies seriously because 50% of the upsc syllabus is cover in college syllabus only..+ You can give some self study time to upsc syllabus like subject which is interesting + simple to read. And if you are in college which doens't help a lot in your preperation then you can go college only in examination time and then can join some good coaching or fully inclined yourself towards upsc preperation.

The questions never get repeated but you can find similar maybe, UPSC got lot of questions and that too relevant ones and it does not picks questions from third party sources except their own faculties so that doesn't applies to it.

The UPSC doesn’t expect you to know everything. There is a syllabus that you’re supposed to stick to. There are standard books available for reference. What is expected of you is to have a general understanding of the given syllabus that is enough to pen down your thoughts diagnostically and conceptually. I would recommend don't study for 15 hours a day. But yes consistency is important.

The 42nd Constitutional Amendment Act which also known as the “mini-Constitution” has been the most controversial amendment to the Constitution so far. Significance of this Amendment also comes from the fact that it amended the Preamble of the Constitution for the very first time. It changed the description of India from “SOVEREIGN DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC” to a “SOVEREIGN, SOCIALIST SECULAR DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC”, and changed the terms “UNITY OF THE NATION” to “UNITY AND INTEGRITY OF THE NATION”.

Most of us mistakenly believe that the Constitution of India was adopted and enforced on 26th January 1950. However, this fact has an error. The Constitution of India was adopted exactly two months prior to 26th January 1950 — that is on 26th November, 1949. In fact, some provisions of the Constitution also came in force on that very day. However, the entire Constitution came into force on 26th January to celebrate the two decades of Poorna Swarajya (Complete Independence).

Officers cultivate and seek patronage from politicians for obtaining suitable positions post-retirement. Therefore, political neutrality and impartiality of civil services needs to be preserved for a heterogeneous society like India to function smoothly. Example: Das Commission’s Report 1964 on illegal acts by highly placed officials to curry favour with political heads in Punjab.

Nandalal Bose, who was given the responsibility to draw illustrations on every page of the Indian Constitution, involved his pupil Beohar Rammanohar Sinha for the work. Sinha took the lead in drawing the beautiful illustrations and represented styles from the different civilizations of the subcontinent, ranging from the prehistoric Mohenjodaro, in the Indus Valley, to the present. Nandalal Bose endorsed Beohar Rammanohar Sinha’s artwork without any alteration whatsoever. Sinha signed the original Preamble page at the lower-right corner with his initials Ram in Devanagiri script.

The Structure of the Preamble is based on the charter of the United Nations drafted post the World War-II. Both the Indian Preamble and the United Nations Charter start with – “WE THE PEOPLE”.
